IT networks established some time ago may not only have vulnerabilities but may also lack the agility to keep pace with modern security threats. A Secure SD-WAN from Blaze Networks creates an integrated platform, managed through a single management console, which streamlines deployment, policy enforcement, and management across all attack surfaces, delivering a high-performance, automated secure network to safeguard your business, data, and users.
Benefits of modernising your IT network with a secure SD-WAN (managed or co-managed by Blaze Networks) include:
- Built-in encryption, with all traffic being encrypted by default using strong protocols such as IPsec or TLS, ensuring data confidentiality across public or private networks. (MPLS does not inherently encrypt traffic, relying on additional security layers being added).
- Security visibility and centralised management: SD-WAN provides a centralised dashboard for monitoring, policy enforcement, and threat detection across all sites.
- Security updates and patches can be deployed across all sites with this centralised control. This is of major importance in being able to respond to newly discovered vulnerabilities in network infrastructure.
- Rules-based, automated re-configuration of network paths can be pre-programmed when triggered by defined events.

Remove Complexity which Constrains Security Analysis and Response
SD-WANs which are based on CSMA are built around next-generation firewalls, identity and access management, the network, and integrated management, analysis, and response tools. In the case of the Fortinet Security Fabric, this includes a powerful log management, analytics, and reporting platform called FortiAnalyzer.
Dealing with the vast amount of alert information which needs to be analysed in security events is often a problem, sometimes overwhelming or exhausting security teams. The Blaze / Fortinet approach helps to make this more manageable.
